Southampton Business School aims to transform business and society for the better. We encourage responsible interdisciplinary research, education and knowledge exchange that make a sustainable impact on business and society. The University of Southampton is 12th in the UK Times ranking and 80th in the world QS ranking.
Our final year undergraduate business students have the option to take an applied research project in place of a traditional dissertation. Under the guidance of academic supervisors, the applied research projects focus on an issue of their choice, relevant to their programme of study. They define and investigate the issue to propose evidence-based conclusions and recommendations. They present the results of their work in the appropriate format (consultancy report/business plan).
Students begin their applied research projects in October, with a deadline of April. Projects should be defined by November.
