RADMA makes awards to post-graduate students in the field of innovation, R&D and technology management.

It is the management of these disciplines that is of primary interest.

For example, organisations may set up ‘innovation cells’ as part of their organisational structure to promote innovation or new product development. At RADMA we are interested in these cells not the emerging innovations or product development.

To give some context please see the top 10 articles published in the R&D Management Journal as these give an indication of the key themes in the field.

RADMA welcomes applications for research that explores important relevant issues, or furthers understanding in one or more of the following areas.

Themes include:

• Management and exploitation of scientific and technological activity within firms and public bodies
• Determinants of organisation-level performance in R&D product design and innovation
• Interaction of organisation-wide processes such as strategy formulation and human resources with R&D
• The relationship between organisation-level activities and performance
• The impact of national and regional innovation systems on technology, science and industrial policies.

The main (but not the only) criteria for funding decisions is the quality and originality of the research and its
relevance to R&D Management. Students must be currently studying or accepted for study at a UK
university.
