The theme of the 2023 R&D Management Conference was ‘Responsible and Responsive Innovation for a Better Future’ so it was fitting that the best paper award went to Charlotte Chappert, PhD candidate and Research Attaché at Montpellier Management (University of Montpellier) for her paper ‘Multiple asymmetrical collaborations in green innovation ecosystems’.
The paper was co-authored with her thesis supervisor Anne-Sophie Fernandez and research visiting host Dante Leyva-de la Hiz, and was nominated by track chair chair Vesna Vlaisavljevic.
The award was presented during the closing moments of the event by Dr Jeremy Klein, Chair of RADMA, Prof. Andrea Piccaluga, Chair of the R&D Management Conference office, and Prof. Carmen Cabello Medina, chair of the 2023 conference.
A highly successful conference
Dr. Jeremy Klein, Chair of RADMA, commented that it had been a brilliant conference.
“The quality of the papers and the presentations in the conference has been excellent and the theme of the conference has worked extremely well. I was particularly impressed with the plenary sessions, which reflected the theme with so much fidelity.
“The doctoral colloquium provides a unique opportunity for students to gain feedback and has fundamental importance to the conference. The organisers have worked hard to make it a core element of the conference and the contribution of the students has created a good dynamic throughout.
“As a conference experience, it has been brilliant. The design of the conference was simple, with clear communications, and the social programme has been outstanding. And Carmen and Vesna you have managed it with style and cheerfulness.
“Congratulations to all involved.”
His sentiments were reflected by Prof. Andrea Piccaluga, who thanked Carmen and her team. He commented about the theme of the conference and the concept of responsibility.
“At times during the conference, I was thinking how lucky we are to have such a diverse and global community. In a few years many of the young people that have got to know each other will become leaders in diverse spheres. You have both an opportunity and a responsibility to keep in touch, keep dialogues open among different countries and make a better future for us all.”
For Prof. Carmen Cabello Medina the conference was a culmination of months of hard work but she said the outcomes had made it all worthwhile.
“All of us in my team are very happy about how the conference went. I think that all of us have enjoyed the sessions, the round tables, the speeches.
“We had what is expected from a conference – very insightful conversations and discussions, and all of us have participated in that – but it has also been fun and we have been delighted to offer very interesting visits to the city and to the culture of Seville.
“I thank RADMA for their confidence, thank everyone for attending, and I hope that all of us can meet together at the R&D Management Conference next year in Stockholm.”
